Synopsis

Where I go, Fabric Goes is a short, multimedia animated film that explores the versatility of textiles and themes of growth, curiosity, and transformation throughout my creative journey. Made as a love letter to old-school animated media, the project asks, “How can textiles and animation become one?” The film is a self-portrait of me as a creator- as the character traverses each scene, she mirrors my learning. I engaged in processes such as digital embroidery, jacquard weaving, sublimation printing, laser cutting and foiling. The narrative of the film began with hand-drawn animation; each frame was then translated into textiles, which were then shot in a stop-motion manner. Ultimately, the short film is a culmination of my curiosity and motivation to innovate as a creative!
