Untitled (pt.1)

The mood of my video suggests purity in a strong visual form: soft, calm, floral patterned – as we are being presented to an underwater scene that couldn’t be further from reality. This purity is then disturbed by intimidating shrieking sounds through a group of horses slowly swirling up towards the surface. They disappear into a rubber castle blowing up and down as their movement seems to playfully swirl it around, too. The horse, often used as a protagonist in my body of work, sets the tone for the video with its superior appearance and physical strength. The castle contrasts as a metaphorically visualized dream image, emphasizing something unspeakable, elusive and unnamed. Like an archaeologist who probes the walls of an old battlement, viewers can track down their own narratives.
