Synopsis

“Knower and Known” transforms the mundane act of eating pistachios into a rigorous critique of consumerism and the "Mindful Apocalypse." Through a ritual of mindful eating, the artist resists the automatic impulses of mass culture, inscribing every discarded shell with the word "Known." This accumulation of thousands of shells visualizes the internal struggle between the conscious "Knower" and the consumed object. Drawing on Osho’s philosophy and conceptual art traditions, the work turns organic waste into a meditation on time and labor. Whether arranged in rigid lines or fluid dispersions, the shells challenge viewers to rediscover awareness within the relentless speed of modern life.
