Journey Yatra

YATRA is an avant-garde short film inspired by the Upanishadic philosophy “Atman is Brahman,” exploring the inward journey of consciousness through seven states of being. Using a non-narrative form rooted in ritualistic movement, trance, and improvisation, the film navigates moments of calm, chaos, and detachment across the city, a trance gathering, and nature. Guided by sensory awareness, the characters move through wakefulness, sleep, dreaming, and transcendence, where reality and illusion blur. With an all-female cast, YATRA celebrates feminine agency, challenging mythic narratives of rescue and offering a meditative reflection on self-realization, interconnectedness, and the expansion of inner reality.
