Being Numerous is an ongoing thematic work that has begun both from the poems of Georges Oppen’s Of Being Numerous (1968) and Natasha Lennard’s Being Numerous: Essays on Non-Fascist Life (2021). Inspired by Louise Glück's poem named “Telescope”, written in Averno in 2006. Glück just died a year before the beginning of the making of this short film. Lake Averno is a crater lake a few kilometers aways from Naples, it was believed to be way to the underworld. What exactly are these journeys initiatory of? Where do we begin, and where do we go? How do we make sense of the multiple desires and needs within ourselves or from the outside as we begin to narrate a story?
