Breaking a laptop apart means stripping it of its shell, spilling its insides, revealing its dark secrets. We are who we are because of our relationship with Things, and in this instance, we are the way Things are manufactured: against the lives of labourers and their families in the Majority World. Labourers are also rendered as Things, mechanical objects and gears on the conveyor belt of our hardware’s production. This video acts as a séance for revealing the secrets of our Technical Objects, their birth and death, where they are mined, and where they are disposed of. Using Ψυχοσάββατα / psychosavata, as a spiritual vessel for traveling between two worlds, the candles create wormholes that reveal not only the secrets of our devices but also the losses surrounding them.
